Mac’s View: a “Bark Ranger”

Hey, it’s me again– Mac.

I had the most exciting time in Petrified Wood National Park– first of all, it’s one of only a few National Parks that allow dogs on trails (I mean, can you BELIEVE it? I am writing the President daily about this lack of dog access). And also, I was trotting along with my moms on a leash, when we happened upon a park ranger, who stopped us.

And I thought, “Oh no! Maybe I was a bad boy!” — but then, he told me I was being a VERY good boy: staying on leash, staying on the trails, and being polite to other dogs– so he bestowed the highest possible honor on me: he made me a BARK RANGER!!!!

He gave me a Bark Ranger packet, which included a waste bag, and a little sticker, but honestly, I was just happy to be included in the long list of Good Boys and Good Girls who have been so well-behaved in a National Park. A proud day!
